Loch Fyne Whiskies opened its doors in 1993 and quickly became a beloved fixture in the Royal Burgh of Inveraray, attracting drouthy visitors from far and wide in search of a special dram to quench their thirst. A quarter of a century later – though you’d swear I haven’t aged a day – and firmly established as a bit of a whisky mecca in its own right, we’ve decided to open a second shop in our nation’s capital. If Johnnie Walker can open a multi-million pound visitor centre in Edinburgh, then Loch Fyne Whiskies can… can… can open a very decent shop there too! Aiming to bring a wee bit of Inveraray to Edinburgh, we modelled the new shop on our famous Inveraray home, keeping as close to the original as possible – right down to adding ‘windows’ to the window! Soon we’ll have my old pal Hector working the door to make sure those Lowlanders and tourists get a richt guid welcome. You’ll find the shop a stone’s throw from Waverley Station, just off the Royal Mile, on Cockburn Street. Number 36 if you need to know, but I’m sure you’ll spot our familiar sign and barrel-end from the end of the street. Pop in for a chat and discover The Loch Fyne range in all its glory, with The Living Cask taking pride of place. Aside from the usual favourites, you’ll also be able to get your hands on one of our exclusive bottlings from the likes of Glen Scotia and Kilchoman, available outside Inveraray for the very first time – excluding the web shop of course! It’s more than just another shop though, it’s a little taste of Inveraray for the millions of tourists that pass through the capital every year. Hopefully a dram of The Loch Fyne will instil a thirst for Loch Fyne and Inveraray. If you’re visiting Edinburgh during the festival (3rd-27th August) make sure you stroll down Cockburn Street and enjoy a wee dram with our staff!
