Now, there’s two sides to every coin and as much as I love the spirit of Christmas giving, it can be a wee bit daunting if you don’t know what to get for a loved one or yer auld pal.
There may be an awful lot that I don’t know, but if I know one thing, it’s whisky! I’ve put together some of my wee gift recommendations, the perfect winter warmers to open up on Christmas day and one of my favourite whiskies of the year to make sure you get the perfect present or maybe you just want to treat yourself – don’t worry, I won’t let on to anyone!

These are just brilliant! The Lakes Distillery have released two packs of Christmas baubles. That’s right, now you can hang some drams of whisky or some drops of gin on your Christmas tree!
It’s no ordinary gin or whisky either. The whisky pack contains a collection of six 5cl baubles filled with a delicious dram of The ONE British Blended Whisky. The gin pack is a collection of six 5cl baubles containing The Lakes Gin, The Lakes Sloe Gin and The Lakes Damson Gin.

1. GlenDronach 12 Year Old
{{product_id="28"}}A palate that’s deep, rich and full bodied with a long finish full of dried mixed fruits – you’ll be hard pushed to find a more fitting bottle to open this Christmas Day.
This 12-year-old expression won Gold at the 2016 International Wine & Spirit Competition in the 10-12 year old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky category.
2. The Loch Fyne Glenrothes 12 Year Old
{{product_id="313"}}This one is a thing of beauty! Only 1,035 bottles have been produced at a preferred strength of 46% abv, free from chill-filtration and artificial colouring. A Speyside single malt that has matured in a single sherry cask (#2012) for 12 years before bottling in September 2017.
The palate is fruity and floral with rose, marzipan and over-ripe plums the dominant flavours, while a drop of water draws out strawberry and vanilla.

{{product_id="939"}}This limited edition expression was recently awarded Liquid Gold status in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2019 scoring 96 points!
Distilled on Orkney in 2002 and matured in a single refill butt (number 3374) for 15 years before being chosen for bottling for our customers in 2018. Only 458 bottles have been filled, each one at a natural cask strength of 58.4% abv.
