A very warm welcome to the new Loch Fyne Whiskies website, and my first blog for a wee village store in rural Scotland about to go global and become the Google of the whisky world! Or maybe not. The last thing the fine folk at Loch Fyne are interested in is world domination...!

What they are keen to do is share their passion for, and knowledge about, the water of life with like minded people, whether they are novices or seasoned buyers. They've been doing exactly that for more than 20 years in Inveraray, building a reputation and following that belies their humble beginnings.

Which is why I am honoured to be involved with this small store making such a big impact.

We also share the same ethos. We don’t care why you drink whisky, how you drink whisky, how much you spend on whisky. Or whether you spell it with an “e” or without one. We only care that you love whisky as much as we do.

And for the record, I wasn’t invited to blog here because I’m some self-anointed expert. Far from it. I’m only here as a regular, and I hope entertaining - and maybe sometimes provocative - distraction. I’ve also got a bit of form in the industry – read www.robster38.wordpress.com and robbruce.branded.me – for further info if you like.

But this blog isn’t going to be about me. I was just asked to introduce myself. This blog will be all about a wonderful tiny Scottish store with a huge heart that pumps the water of life through the veins of the brilliant people who work there. People who are here for you.

So now go and explore, enjoy, and make yourself known to the passionate people at Loch Fyne Whiskies. A warm embrace awaits you from them and their whiskies.
