The Dalwhinnie distillery is one of the highest working distilleries in Scotland, at 1164 feet above sea level. Located In the Cairngorm mountains in a small highland village, it was founded in 1897 by Alexander Mackenzie, John Grant and George Stellar and named Strathspey. Nowadays, Dalwhinnie has 2 stills and produces 2.2 million litres of spirit per annum.
