Glen Spey
Glen Spey distillery is located in Rothes, Speyside, and was founded in 1878 by James Stuart, who converted his oatmeal mill into a distillery. It has a production capacity of only 1.4 million litres, and produces a unique spirit due to its unusual differences in the distillation processes. After-coolers condense vapours from the stills, which have purifiers that push some of these vapours back into the pot for re-distillation. With much of the spirit being used in blends, there is not much left for official bottlings which are few and far between.
