Amid picturesque woodland and glens in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains, lies the Fettercairn Distillery. Founded in 1824, it is one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. Its water is sourced from the natural surroundings and distilled in traditional copper stills, giving the single malts a balanced, yet peaty character. Now part of the Whyte and MacKay family, most of the spirit goes into blended whiskies but there remains a few independent bottlings.
