Strathisla

Strathisla Distillery first existed in 1786 under the name Milltown, and it is argued by many to be the oldest distillery in continuous production in Scotland. Located in Speyside, official beginnings were in 1825, and it has undergone various ownership changes and refurbishments when damage has occurred from onsite fires over the years. Chivas Brothers bought the distillery at auction in 1949 after it was declared bankrupt, and it has been restored into one of the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland.
