Brora 40 Year Old 200th Anniversary
70CL / 49.2% abv
This limited edition single malt was distilled at Brora distillery in 1978 during an era when the distillery produced a peated malt using heavily peated northern Highland barley. This expression from the soon-to-be-revived distillery has been bottled at 40 years old to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the original opening date. Limited to just 1,819 bottles – which also happens to be the year Brora was founded – this edition is bottled at 49.2% abv.
Nose: rich sweet fruit, ripe figs and fire and brimstone.
Palate: smooth, lightly waxy texture with a powerful, rich, darkly sweet notes, becoming savoury then finally smoky.
Finish: long and lingering with plumes of peat smoke.
