Glen Moray Warehouse 1 1998 Barolo Finish
70cl / 52.9% abv
Glen Moray Warehouse 1 1998 Barolo Finish Description
Part of the experimental Warehouse 1 collection, this exciting autumnal dram was distilled in 1998 and aged for over 23 years, spending most of its slumber in ex-bourbon casks. But the magic happened when it was transferred to three ex-Barolo wine casks - an Italian wine with high acidity and tannins - where it spent at least 18 months gently maturing and finishing. This whisky is bottled at a cask strength 52.9% abv, free from chill filtration, and presented at natural colour.
The combination of maturations has created a proper decadent whisky, a real Glen Moray treat! Expect big hits of luxurious flavours, and no punches to be pulled!
Nose: Werthers Originals, summer flowers, caramel chocolates.
Palate: big hit of tannins, leather, oakiness, dissipating to sweeter elements of figs, dark plums, blackberries.
Finish: gentle, oily profile of thick honey.
