In addition to the traditional Highland production, there is a limited amount of richly peated whisky produced. This is a unique style quite different to the usual Highland malt. This expression was matured in the finest Bourbon Barrels and is part of the Glenglassaugh core range. It is non chill filtered, and of natural colour.
Nose: Sweet, campfire smoke and sea air infused with a zest of lime. Warmed stem ginger and apricot jam with cracked black pepper.
Palate: Sweet coastal peat smoke. A cornucopia of fruit - melon, pineapple and roasted red apples. Oat biscuits with heather honey. The Torfa's character is perfectly balanced by cigar box spices.
Finish: A harmony of distinct coastal peat and striking spiced fruit flavours.
