Lindores Abbey MCDXCIV Commemorative First Release
70cl / 46% abv
Lindores Abbey MCDXCIV Commemorative First Release Description
527 years after the first distillate in 1494, Lindores Abbey is back with its first single malt release in 2021! This much-anticipated release has been treated to a 3 and a half year maturation in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and STR (shaved, toasted and recharred) ex-Burgundy wine casks before being bottled up at 46% abv. Hopes have been high with this release, but we can safely say that the hype is very much real.
This is the commemorative label edition - rest assured, it has the same liquid as the core release.
Nose: soft and mellow with high notes of vanilla, caramel, green apples and pear drops.
Palate: incredibly smooth and creamy, with dried fruits, figs, raisins, a burst of citrus and a hint of spice.
Finish: a light but lingering finish.
