Old Pulteney 21 year old Description
Matured in hand selected American ex bourbon and ex Fino sherry casks. A worthy winner of Jim Murray's world whisky of the year in 2012. The distillery is situated in Wick on the tip of the North East coast of Scotland, 3 degrees further north than Moscow and was named after the Member of Parliament and Governor of the British Fisheries Society, Sir William Johnstone Pulteney. At a time when Wick was only accessible by sea, it became famous for two sources of prosperity barrels of silver (herring) and gold (whisky) which left the port in vast numbers.
