Limited to one bottle per customer
The second in the annual Local Barley releases from Campbeltown's oldest operational distillery, this 11 year old is bottled at 53.1% abv. Distilled from bere barley grown on Aros Farm near Machrihanish airport, and matured in 26 bourbon casks, only 9,000 bottles have been produced.
Nose: marmalade and honey with mineral notes, opening up to freshly baked bread, sun-dried banana and salted caramel.
Palate: a lovely creamy mouth-feel with sweet grape notes, custard, honeycomb and marshmallow balancing salted popcorn and liquorice with and underlying hint of peat.
Finish: almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts linger in the rich, buttery finish.
