Matured in American ex-bourbon oak for 12 and a half years, followed by four years in first-fill Spanish oak butts, this 2nd release of the 2000 vintage is sweet and fruity with woody spices.
Nose: seasoned oak, baked red apples and fruitcake with vanilla and tropical fruits.
Palate: slightly oily, with ground spices, old hardwood, pineapple, orange peel and honey.
Finish: sweet notes building to a creamy chocolate crescendo.
