Clynelish

The original Clynelish Distillery was renamed Brora and the new version was designed in the same style as that of the Caol Ila distillery on Islay. The distillery was originally intended to supplement the local whisky that had been capitalised by the smuggling fraternity. Clynelish whiskies have the reputation of being relatively light and crisp, despite the use of peated barley in its production. The buildings of the old Brora distillery are now used as a warehouse and visitor centre and the distillery is particularly active as one of the contributors to the Johnnie Walker Blend.
