The distillery was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay.  It was passed to the Gladstone family, who remained involved for nearly a century. The name Fior comes from the Gaelic for 'true'.

Nose: Spicy notes on mocha chocolate, almonds and pistachios.

Palate: Almond paste with white chocolate, spicy nutmeg and light zesty citrus fruits.

Finish: Long with nutty notes and fresh pineapple.

  • Always welcome...
    A very fine whisky indeed. Always brings a smile to my face and reminds me of gorse flowers, heather honey and summer berries. In fact, if you could distill a lovely day in August in the beautiful countryside where Fior is made, this is probably what it would taste like. Another great advantage is the very reasonable price.
