Bruichladdich is located on Islay, the ‘Whisky capital’ of Scotland. Founded in 1881 and subsequently shut down in the early 1990s, it was given a new lease of life when purchased by a group of private investors and is now well known as making some of the most innovative malt whiskies. The distillery lies sheltered by the rugged Islay mountain range, the Rhinns, and this attributes to the more gentle character of the spirit. Saying that, Bruichladdich has also created one of the most heavily peated single malts, The Octomore, which has a phenol content of 131ppm.
Matured in 1st fill bourbon ,sherry and French wine casks, only 18,000 bottles of this 10 year old unpeated Islay Single Malt have been produced.
This Authors’ Series is a range of exclusive single malt whiskies, created by the prestigious blenders and bottlers, Hunter Laing & Co.
