Laphroaig

The Laphroaig distillery was founded in 1810 by Donald and Alexander Johnston and is located on the southern tip of Islay in Scotland. The malt whiskies are world renowned for their distinctive smoky and peaty character, which is partly due to the high moss content in the peat from the surrounding coastline. Laphroaig recently celebrated its 200th anniversary with the release of the popular 15 year old expression, which embodies the typical heavily peated character.
