The Mortlach distillery can be found in the heart of Speyside, in the town of Dufftown, which produces more whisky than any other town in Scotland. Founded in 1823 by John Findlater, Mortlach was the first legal distillery to originate from there. Mortlach is now a Diageo owned distillery, which is used in blends such as Johnnie Walker Blue Label. There are three wash stills and three spirit stills, which have a combined annual capacity of 2.9 million litres. Alongside a handful of independent bottlings, Mortlach has also produced a small selection of popular official releases.
Distilled in October 2007 at Mortlach distillery in Speyside, this single malt has matured in a single refill barrel for 8 years before bottling in October 2015 as part of the Old Malt Cask range from independent bottler Hunter Laing & Co. of Glasgow.
This is the 18 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside Distillery, Mortlach, released in 2014 as part of an exclusive new range. Matured in a combination of Sherry and refill American oak casks, this expression is rich and well rounded.
A gem of Speyside, this is the oldest expression in the luxurious new range of single malts from the coveted Mortlach Distillery. Matured exclusively in refill American oak casks which impart a rich, amber colour whilst retaining the balance between the character of the spirit and the flavours imparted by the wood.
