A dram hailing from the ever-exceptional Highlands, the Single Cask Nation Ruadh Mhor 2013 is a smoky beauty from the Glenturret distillery. This one’s spent 11 years maturing, with the last 3 in a first-fill new charred oak hogshead, really cranking up the peat and BBQ flavours. Distilled in July 2013 and bottled at a lively 55.9% abv, it’s a bold, cask-strength expression with notes of smoky sour cherries and a bit of charred wood. Only 307 bottles came out of cask #171238, so it’s a rare one to get your hands on. If you’re into peated whisky and fancy something a bit different, this one’s sure to hit the spot.
