Another great idea from those chaps over at The Lakes Distillery. This is part of The One collection. This is The One Part Cask Finish, a blended whisky comprised of both grain and malt whiskies from Scottish distilleries, as well as The Lakes Single Malt. This expression was finished in first-fill Ruby and Tawny Port casks, elevating certain flavours within the blend. Nose: toasted oak, candied ginger, Maraschino cherries.
Palate: plums, hot chocolate, floral characteristics.
Finish: rich, spicy, long.
