Claiming to be one of the smokiest drams in this galaxy or next, this Committee-only special release from Ardbeg is at least one for the books.
Cloaked in intrigue and mystery, this non age statement whisky is believed to have been matured in bourbon casks. What we can tell you for sure, is that it was distilled from peated malt barley with a star-shattering phenol level of 170ppm, and was bottled at 51% abv.

Nose: One to make your eyes water, the nose on this dram packs a powerful punch with brutal waves of tar, smoke, and sea salt. Once the initial aromas fade, more subtle notes of peppermint, lavender and flowering blackcurrants emerge.
Palate: As explosive as any Hypernova, expect flavours of chocolate, mint, peat smoke, bitter almonds, aniseed, and clove.
Finish: Like the collapse of a great star in upon itself, the finish descends into clouds of heavy smoke, with deeper notes of roasted coffee.
