Released in 2014, Ardmore Legacy is a combination of the traditional peated Ardmore malt and a non-peated version named Ardlair that is also produced by the distillery in small quantities. A relative new-comer to the single malt market, Ardmore only released its first proprietary single malt in 2007, with the majority of the distillery's output featuring in Teacher's blended Scotch since its founding in 1898.
Nose: vanilla fudge and toffee mixed with green apples, pears and a soft, earthy smoke.
Palate: vibrant with a savoury smoke followed by sweet notes of icing sugar and boiled caramel sweets, complemented by more fresh green notes.
Finish: a good length with a sweetness that fades to cinnamon spice and gentle smoke.
