Part of the Diageo 2017 Special Releases, this single malt was distilled in 1998 at Speyside's Glen Elgin distillery from two batches of malt, one using Pombe yeast matured in ex-bodega casks and the other using conventional cerevisiae yeast and matured in refill European oak butts. Only 5,352 bottles have been released at a cask strength of 54.8% abv.

Hamish Says...
Our Hamish has had a sip and jotted down his thoughts.
Nose: vanilla toffee gives way to leafy, herbal notes before candied nuts, polished oak and orchard fruits.
Palate:smooth and very sweet, honey and honeycomb is followed by apples and oaky spice.
Finish: medium and dry with oak fading to leave brown sugar and a touch of aniseed.
