Lindores Abbey The Casks of Lindores Bourbon Description
Not many drams have roots going back to 1494, in fact, none of them do! This is a lowland single malt whisky from the Lindores Abbey Distillery, the officially recognised site of the first recorded distillation of Scottish whisky. This was bottled at 49.4% abv and spent a three-year-long maturation in ex-bourbon casks. Even when we think how far whisky has come, its drams like this that make us recognise the beautiful simplicity of a good-tasting tipple.
Nose: toasted oak, pears, barley, vanilla.
Palate: cooked orchard fruits, dark berry tart, festive spices, vanilla.
Finish: sweet apple, pear, oak, peppery spice.
