Littlemill Testament 1976 Description
Sublime! Spectacular! How else can we describe this Littlemill Testament release?
Now officially the distillery's oldest release to date (it was distilled on 4th October 1976), this whisky was re-casked in 1996 into American oak hogsheads by master distiller Michael Henry, before he then vatted three of the casks into two first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads for four months. He then married all the liquid together for a final two months before it was bottled in 2020 at 42.5% abv.
Just 250 bottles of this limited release have been created, each one presented in a hand-blown glass decanter and a dress stopper made from the distillery's natural sandstone.
Nose: green apples and pears, fresh citrus and ginger.
Palate: creamy mouthfeel with more vibrant fruits; zesty and citrussy.
Finish: long with gentle cinnamon spice.
