This Authors’ Series is a range of exclusive single malt whiskies, created by the prestigious blenders and bottlers, Hunter Laing & Co. This is a limited edition expression, inspired by the life and work of Alfred Tennyson.

This particular expression was distilled in March 1983 at the now closed Port Ellen distillery on Islay, before maturing for 33 years in a sherry butt. Bottled in November 2016 at a strength of 55.9% abv, only 142 have been produced.

Each bottle is presented in a brown leather box, embossed with gold metallic text, and are individually wax sealed.

Hamish Says

Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892) became poet laureate to Queen Victoria in 1850 and remained in the post until his death, making him the longest serving to date. Considered by many to be the finest poet of the Victorian era, Lord Tennyson was the first peer to be created for his writing and is most remembered for his tribute to British cavalrymen, 'The Charge of the Light Brigade'.
