After discovering a stock of aged rye whiskey that was being misused for blending in Canada, the team at WhistlePig farm distillery rescued the liquid for their 10 year old expression. Matured in new American oak and finished in bourbon barrels before being bottled by hand at a strength of 50% abv.
Nose: orange peel, allspice and anise with caramel and charred oak.
Palate: sweet caramel and vanilla with a rye spice and a touch of mint.
Finish: long and warming with butterscotch and more caramel.
