The 1983 is drawn from a period of time where very few expressions existed. Matured in American oak ex bourbon barrels, this is a follow up to replace the 2nd release of the 1975 vintage.
Established in 1790, Balblair is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and the oldest working distillery in the Highlands.
Nose: Warm aromas of butterscotch, toffee and vanilla with sweet citrus coming through.
Palate: Sweet and spicy with banana, fudge and caramel notes, fresh fruitiness.
Finish: Long and full bodied with luscious butterscotch.
