Oban

Cliffside, and overlooking Oban harbour on the western coast of Scotland, lies the Oban Distillery. It was founded by Hugh and John Stevenson in 1793, in the grounds of an old brewery, and is one of the oldest active distilleries in Scotland. The distillery is in the heart of the local community, but it has experienced difficult periods, going in and out of production several times in the last century. Nowadays, Oban is regarded as one of the best examples of a Highland malt, and is one of Diageo’s Classic Malts series.
