The original distillery founded in 1798 was called Aldour, meaning barn of the otter, and was renamed Blair Athol in 1825. It is the spiritual home of Bells whisky.
Nose: Rich with sherried fruits, sweet with the slightest suggestion of smoke.
Palate: Full bodied with spices, citrus and dark fruits, some maltiness.
Finish: Sweet, dry and complex with wisps of smoke.
