43% vol. / 70cl
Founded in 1793 by John and Hugh Stevenson, one of Diageo's six classic malts. Most of the spirit produced at Oban ends as a single malt. The tiny lantern-shaped copper pot stills are among the smallest in Scotland; their rich, fruity malt is then slowly condensed in wooden worm tubs that sit outside among the rooftops, before being aged in oak casks for at least 14 years.
Nose: A mix of rich sweet juicy fruit with the faintest hint of peat smoke carried on a fresh sea breeze.
Palate: Autumn fruits and malty biscuits with honey and a touch of smoke.
Finish: Long and oaky with some salty notes.
